Inspired by the principles of sustainable development, Energía Austral has sought since 2007 to become a trustworthy partner for the Aysén Region’s development. To this end, it has devoted important efforts to establishing permanent dialogue with the community and local authorities in order to provide them with information about the project’s characteristics and progress and, at the same time, understand their concerns and expectations.

During these four years of dialogue with the local community, Energía Austral has held over 190 formal meetings with different community organisations as part of this information and consultation process. Some 7,000 people have participated in these meetings.

The main tool employed by Energía Austral is dialogue with the different local and regional players in a bid to reach agreements and implement actions in pursuit of common goals.

These efforts are also reflected in our Corporate Social Responsibility Programme which seeks to enhance people’s quality of life in the long term through projects in the fields of education, training, art and culture, social development and entrepreneurship.
