Within the framework of its 2011 Social Involvement Plan and its commitment to the Aysén Region’s sustainable development, Energía Austral has invited organisations in the Aysén municipal district to submit applications to its annual Social and Community Development Fund for the development of sports, social, community, educational and cultural projects. Through this Fund, it seeks to promote initiatives, presented by formal organisations, which directly benefit their members, partners and the community in general.

The spirit of this Fund is to support ideas and proposals generated by organisations of a markedly participative nature that respond to needs felt by the community itself and have the community’s backing for their implementation and development over time.

This mechanism of support for the financing of social initiatives has been in place since 2009 and started with a fund for community development, along with an educational fund, before being extended in 2010 to sports initiatives.

After a process of consultation and participation with different social and community organisations, Energía Austral decided in 2011 to bring the community development, educational and sports funds together into a single fund, characterised by its openness and transparency for the Aysén community.

How to apply

All formally established organisations in the Aysén municipal district may apply.

Applicants should read the Fund’s terms and submit their project, together with the application form filled in with all the information requested.

The Fund’s term sheet can be obtained free-of-charge from Monday 22 March through to Friday 29 April 2011 at the offices of Energía Austral in Sargento Aldea N° 965, first floor, Puerto Aysén, during office hours (09:30 to 12:30) or by downloading it from the company’s website, www.energiaaustral.cl
